FYI, most Anglican churches in Sydney have been thinking along these lines theologically for a long time. Have you read David Peterson's 'Engaging with God: A Biblical Theology of Worship'?

This exchange with Don Carson also highlights some of the difference: https://thebriefing.com.au/2000/12/is-the-church-a-house-of-worship/

I enjoyed reading that and I think you are right. It’s a bit like praying, in that Paul says we should do it continually not just in church or at set times. As you say our lives should be the worship and service. As another local church I know has just had a schism which has caused some heartbreak, it probably is time to rethink the words. Do we need the word church even? Christian gatherings? I don’t know and I don’t know how we get away from the idea of church in buildings though future circumstances might force the issue. As monasteries started because of disillusionment with a growing wealthy and powerful church, maybe a new way will be revealed. As always it’s a heart matter. Thank you for your thoughts.
