I am enjoying your thought provoking series on re thinking church. I struggle with the whole denomination thing, the tight allegiance to one particular way of expressing and sharing your Christianity. When I moved to our rural area 2 years ago, I prayed that I would find a group of Christians in the locality to have fellowship with. I eventually discovered a group that was working towards setting up a new church in our nearest little town. It would seem to be an answer to prayer. As the new church has progressed, I have difficulty with the way they worship, the fact that the leadership seems set on doing things only the way they see fit, with no discussion or even involvement from the 'congregation' ( I don't much like that word). And have not found a real friendship with anyone there. Have had debates on what is happening in Israel with two different people. I don't want to leave the church as there are some good people amongst them, and the overall goal is a good one, but feel myself working my way to the fringes. If I leave I think I will have difficulty maintaining my relationship with God. You may remember I came back to Christ during the Covid shenanigans.

I would be interested on further thoughts on worship- I was very interested in and have listened to one of the Tom Wadsworth talks. Modern worship as I have encountered it leaves me feeling increasingly uncomfortable, yet it was the feeling that I needed to worship God that brought me back to him and hence the church. I'm not sure what the resolution is. Thanks for questioning and researching everything. You are in a minority, sadly. Sorry I have rambled, I have saved up thought from a number of your pieces!
